Linenhall Chambers provides the largest team of specialist criminal barristers serving the courts in Cheshire and North Wales. We also undertake cases in South Wales, Manchester, Liverpool and in the Midlands. With over 30 juniors and four silks we provide specialist advocacy and advice services in every aspect of criminal law.
Our specialist criminal barristers undertake serious and complex cases in the Crown Court and all the appellant courts as well as dealing with matters in the magistrates courts. They both prosecute and defend, combining first rate levels of expertise and experience with a friendly and personable delivery style.
The team is instructed by solicitors from across England and Wales as well as the CPS, the Rape & Serious Sexual Offences Unit (RASSO) and the Complex Crime Unit (CCU), the CPS Special Crime & Counter-Terrorism Division (SCCTD), local authorities, police authorities, RSPCA, Post Office and the DWP.
A number of members of Chambers are on the CPS Serious and Organised Crime, RASSO and Specialist Fraud panels. Several members of the team are regularly briefed as leading juniors in murder cases and major drugs conspiracies and also multi handed sex cases. The team also includes a number of category 4 prosecutors, working at the highest level for the CPS.
Six members of the team also accept direct access instructions direct from clients and are regularly instructed by clients they have worked with previously who trust them to provide the best possible representation.
