Courts Martial
Linenhall Chambers have a team of barristers specialising in Courts Martial, representing and defending Military personnel from the British Armed Forces for service offences in the Court Martial Centres (CMCs); Family members of military personnel in the Service Military Court; and Military personnel in the Service Civilian Court across the full range of both military and civilian offences.
Our deeply experienced team have acted for members of the British Army, Royal Navy (including Royal Marines) and Royal Air Force utilising their detailed understanding of the complexity of conducting cases in this highly governed area of law.
Specialist barristers from Linenhall Chamber’s criminal team act for military personnel and their family members across England and Wales, travelling to attend hearings in the main Military Court Centres in Bulford, Wiltshire and Catterick, Yorkshire and at other military locations in England and Wales as well as overseas in international jurisdictions such as Germany.
The team has particularly acted for military personnel based at Dale Barracks in Chester due to the geographical proximity of Linenhall’s Chambers in Chester.
Members of the team regularly represent clients alleged with murder, attempted murder, torture, serious violence, fraud, rape and drug offences. They combine their technical knowledge of the working practices applicable to Courts Martial with an appreciation of the potentially life changing consequences of such cases to achieve the best outcomes for their clients.
