Injunctions & Committals

The expert team of family barristers at Linenhall Chambers can advise applicants and respondents in relation to applications made under the Family Law Act 1996 including injunction applications for Non-Molestation Orders, Occupation Orders and committal proceedings where a breach has been alleged.

Our barristers are deeply experienced in all types of family law including in relation to domestic violence arising in both child arrangements and care proceedings.

The Linenhall team are able to provide urgent and responsive advice for clients who need to apply for a Non-Molestation order, to keep a family member away from themselves or their children, or an Occupation Order, to remove a family member from the family home or ensure the client is able to stay in their home. They also provide representation to the respondents of such orders.

These orders can be made without notice and without the knowledge of the person to whom they will apply, either where they are being made as standalone applications or in the context of wider Children Act or care proceedings.

Our caring team of experienced family barristers can also help with injunctions in relation to longer term welfare and in relation to the fair division of property and assets in divorce proceedings as well as parents seeking contact with their child or children.

The barristers at Linenhall Chambers use their experience and expertise in family law combined with an approachable and sensitive style to put clients at ease whilst ensuring they receive the representation and protection they need. They provide clients with guidance in plain English and without formality, making themselves accessible to support clients who may be experiencing high levels of stress and distress.

The family team at Linenhall work closely with instructing solicitors as well as taking cases on a direct access basis, utilising their working knowledge of the application of orders in practice and drawing from their experience of both the family and criminal legal justice systems which apply to injunctions and committals.

Our family barristers advise clients across England and Wales, in particular in North and Mid Wales, Cheshire and the wider North West and across the Midlands. The team includes a number of Welsh speakers able to conduct cases in Welsh.
