Clare’s family work includes all areas of children work in both private law and public law. Her practice takes her to a wide variety of different locations and has included cases in the High Court, involving removal from the jurisdiction and cases concerning the religious upbringing of children.
She regularly appears in the County Court in sensitive Children Act proceedings (both public and private law).
Clare acts for local authorities, parents and relatives, interveners, children and Guardians.
She has a strong reputation for her diligent approach to cases with attention to detail being her forte.
Clare has extensive experience dealing with vulnerable clients and has been noted for her patience and compassion in such cases.
August 2020 – W v W and W – representation of a mother in finding of fact, and subsequent final hearing, in private law case involving disputed expert evidence.
January 2021 – CWAC v O and W – representation of a mother lacking capacity in care and placement proceedings, involving taking instructions from Official Solicitor.
March 2021 – DCC v T- representation of a mother in contested care and placement proceedings with the assistance of an intermediary.
September 2021 – FCC v B, B and others – representation of an intervenor (grandparent) in finding of fact in care proceedings, in respect of non- accidental injuries.
December 2021 – WBC v T, D and D – representation of local authority in contested care and placement proceedings.
February 2022 – C v B-C and C – representation of the children through their Guardian, in finding of fact and subsequent final hearing.
February 2022 – DT, HH and CCBC- representation of the children through their Guardian in a contested discharge application by the parents and grandparents.
