Simon Mintz has just succeeded in his second judicial review within the last 12 months against the Committal of Youths to the Crown Court under the ‘grave crimes’ provisions, this time from Derby Youth Court, who committed a 13 year old boy with severe learning difficulties to the Crown Court in relation to three offences Robbery, after having found him unfit to stand trial. Lord Justice Davis and Mr Justice Foskett at RCJ did not hesitate to quash the committal in this case.
