David Elias QC and Owen Edwards of Linenhall Chambers successfully defended Ben Wilkinson on a charge of murder at Chester Crown Court. The jury returned not guilty verdicts after a nine-day trial ending on the 26th November 2020. The trial concerned the tragic death of Steven Carey who died following a drug related dispute in which he was stabbed. Mr Wilkinson admitted manslaughter but denied any intent to kill or cause really serious injury.
