Matthew Curtis and his solicitors Martin & Strain recently represented an 11 year old facing sentence before the Crown Court for serious sexual offences. An application was made before the Resident Judge at the Crown Court in Caernarfon for the case to be adjourned for a judicial review claim to be made. A Divisional Court sitting in Cardiff quashed the committal and directed the Youth Court to proceed to sentence. The young client never had to appear before the Crown Court or indeed meet his counsel.
