A six week trial concluded at Mold Crown Court on the 20th December 2014 relating to allegations of physical and sexual violence over a twenty year period. The investigation was described as the largest of its type conducted by the North Wales Police. The prosecution case relied upon witnesses from England, Wales, Scotland, Holland and Spain and involved detailed forensic medical evidence.
The prosecution were represented by Wyn Lloyd Jones leading Brett Williamson, the defendant was represented by Owen Edwards leading Simon Rogers all from Linenhall Chambers. The defendant was convicted of most offences of violence and acquitted of all sexual offences. In sentencing the defendant His Honour Judge Price Rowlands described it as a most serious and unusual case.
