Anna Pope of Linenhall Chambers led by Michael Jones QC, prosecuted in the murder trial of Christian Williams at Mold Crown Court. Mr Williams pleaded not guilty to murder on the basis of self-defence. The prosecution told the jury that Williams was guilty of “intentionally sawing” a kitchen knife through Mr Hamilton’s neck. Mr Hamilton was a neighbour of the defendant and they were said to be on good terms before the murder took place. Gruesome details of the injuries inflicted on Mr Hamilton, which included sawing through the carotid artery and windpipe in his throat to such a degree that there were grooves on the front of his spine, were presented to the court.
Christian Williams, of Bagillt, was found guilty and convicted of murdering Flintshire dad Andrew Hamilton after trial by jury.
Christian Francis Williams killed his 42-year-old neighbour at a block of flats in Bagillt.
At Mold Crown Court the defendant was given a life sentence with a minimum term of 23 years.
