Owen Edwards prosecuted the appeal by Glen Johnson against the imposition of a disqualification from driving. Mr Johnson’s Audi Q7 was spotted speeding on the A55 in North Wales. The Liverpool and England footballer claimed that he didn’t receive the initial notifications from the police and that his response must have been lost in the post. Following cross examination by Mr Edwards, His Honour Judge Philip Hughes described the footballer’s explanation as incredible. An appeal against the length of the ban also failed.
