Linenhall Chambers are pleased to announce that Edward Timpson CBE KC has rejoined chambers working within the Family Practice Group.
Edward originally joined Nicholas Street Chambers in 1999 and spent the next 9 years developing a busy family practice across the North-West, West Midlands and North Wales. In 2008 Edward was elected to Parliament and served as Minister for Children and Families between 2012 and 2017. He led several Bills through Parliament, including the now Children and Families Act 2014, Education and Adoption Act 2016 and Children and Social Work Act 2017. Edward served as Chair of CAFCASS and Chair of the National Child Safeguarding Practice Review Panel between 2017 and 2019. In 2022 he was appointed Solicitor-General and took silk. Before stepping down from Parliament, Edward acted as an adviser to Ministers on Family Justice policy.
