Matthew Curtis successfully prosecuted the man who drove up Mount Snowdon twice. After a three day trial at Caernarfon Crown Court the jury convicted Craig Williams of two counts of dangerous driving and the judge jailed him for 16 months.
Craig Williams failed to attend the first day of the trial but was arrested in time for him to give evidence on the second day. He was sentenced to a further term of 6 months for his deliberate failure to attend. There was a significant search and rescue effort after the Defendant sent a suicide note to the court. He later stuck a further note on the court windows suggesting he could not be caught but was arrested after being found asleep in a car in the Snowdonia area.
