Coutts successfully defends footballer Sean Merryweather

James Coutts of Linenhall Chambers successfully defended footballer Sean Merryweather who was accused of GBH after breaking an opponent’s leg in a “flying kick” during a match.

Mr. Merryweather denied grievous bodily harm and the trial was held at Mold Crown Court. James Coutts of Linenhall Chambers was instructed by solicitor Emily Carlisle of Allington Hughes and defended the case at trial. The jury cleared Mr. Merryweather of the charges.
