Anna Pope and Ember-Jade Wong prosecuted the case of Wilfred Wong and others, who were recently convicted of conspiracy to kidnap. The gang was represented by several members of the criminal team including Duncan Bould, Nicholas Williams, Richard Edwards and Elen Owen.

They carefully planned the kidnapping over several months. This involved the use of burner phones, hire cars, passports, false plates and a coded system of communication.  On 4th November 2020, the child was snatched at knifepoint from their foster carer in Anglesey.  Months of planning unravelled  in a few hours, thanks to the quick action of North Wales Police. Within 4 hours the vehicle containing the child was tracked and stopped on the M1 in Northamptonshire .

The investigation was fast paced and complex – and the presentation at trial involved detailed analysis of a large quantity of evidence.

A further person represented by Anna Price was found Not Guilty after the 4-week trial at Caernarfon Crown Court which took place in June and July.

The gang members were sentenced by Her Honour Judge Jones, receiving  a total of 63 years imprisonment.
