Catherine accepted an offer to join Chambers in September 2025.

Prior to Chambers, Catherine completed pupillage with the Crown Prosecution Service. She progressed quickly and established herself as an experienced Crown Advocate. During that time, she successfully prosecuted a range of criminal offences, including offences of violence, weapons, serious road traffic collisions, drugs and theft offences. She has also has experience of finding of fact hearings and prosecuting those with mental health issues. She is also apt in dealing with serious sexual offences including in Youth Court proceedings.

Before pupillage, Catherine worked for a consultancy company in employment law, representing respondent companies at Employment Tribunals throughout the UK.

Catherine has a busy practice covering both prosecution and defence instruction.

Sexual Offences

R v C [2022] – Prosecuted of an offence of causing serious injury via dangerous driving, involving 3 victims and serious injuries to the D himself. The case involved a lengthy police pursuit with a number of aggravating features, cumulating in a head on collision. Resulted in a 32-month sentence.

R v H [2023] – Instructed to prosecute in the Magistrates Court and at a subsequent sentence hearing in the Crown Court for breaches of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order. Case received press attention due to the D being a notable figure.

R v M [2023] – Secured a conviction in a case of intentional strangulation in a domestic context.

R v M [2024] – Conducted a finding of fact hearing in which the Defendant was found to have ‘committed the act’ of stalking and was sentenced with a hospital order and an indefinite restraining order against the victim.

R v S [2025] – Instructed to prosecute a serious assault committed in prison. D received substantial sentence of over 4 years.

R v C [2025] – Prosecuted a youth charged with inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.
