Owen Edwards KC leading Simon Rogers successfully prosecuted a group of defendants involved in grooming teenage girls in North Wales. The investigation started in 2022 when concerns were raised over a girl being taken to London. A major investigation was conducted in 2024 because of the targeting of another female resulting in the arrest and subsequent conviction of all five defendants. The defendants were convicted of modern slavery offences together with associated drugs and sexual offences following a lengthy trial at Caernarfon Crown Court. Duncan Bould and Gareth Bellis of Linenhall Chambers represented two of the defendants.
