Russell is a Civil practitioner who has experience of litigation in all levels of Courts. He received the Sir Graham Day Prize in 1996 for his achievements in respect of Company and Commercial Law and has gone on to develop a strong reputation at the Bar. His own practice covers a large geographical area of which his current Solicitors regard him as being a very approachable member of the Bar.

Personal injury

Russell specialises in personal injury work covering areas such as road traffic accidents, fatal accidents, employers liability, occupiers liability and tripping claims. Russell acts for both Claimants and Defendants alike.

A large percentage of Russell’s practice is paper based, and he prides himself on his ability to turn papers around very quickly.

Housing and Anti-social behaviour

Russell has particular experience of Housing Law. He frequently acts for local authorities and tenants in this area and has a specific interest in claims for possession, injunctive relief, anti-social behaviour and homelessness applications/appeals.

Construction Law

Russell is well versed in complex building disputes having previously been employed in the Construction Industry in a Project management capacity. He is able to draw on his invaluable practical experiences as gained within the industry when acting in such matters.

Russell has been involved in many large scale commercial construction projects for clients such as Manchester Airport, Shell, ICI and the NHS.

Other areas of his practice include: Company and commercial, Employment, Sale and supply of goods and services and Costs proceedings.

Russell accepts work on a CFA basis. He is also qualified to accept Public Access work.
