Leanne appears regularly in Employment Tribunals throughout the country. She has experience in representing both Claimants and Respondents in preliminary hearings as well as multi day hearings. Leanne also undertakes written advices on all areas of Employment Law. Leanne has experience of representing clients in the following areas:

– Breach of Contract
– All aspects of discrimination, and

Personal Injury

Leanne’s practice covers all aspects of personal injury work, acting for both Claimants and Defendants at all stages of litigation. Leanne has particular experience of cases arising from road traffic accidents (including cases where fraud is alleged), employer’s liability and occupier’s liability. Leanne is also instructed on claims arising from negligent medical treatment.

Leanne has particular experience in cases involving credit hire charges. She is regularly instructed in claims involving enforceability under consumer credit legislations, inpercuniousty, appropriate rates and period of hire.


Leanne has experience in housing claims, acting for both Landlords and Tenants. She has a particular interest in claims for possession.

Leanne is happy to undertake work on a Conditional Fee Agreement basis where appropriate.

Leanne is also qualified to accept instructions on a Public Access basis.

Career History:

After completing the Bar Vocational Course, Leanne commenced work as an Advocate for Lyons Davidson Solicitors. During her 3 years with the firm Leanne undertook and passed the Qualified Lawyers Transfer Test, which enabled her to practice as a Solicitor. Leanne specialised in personal injury, general civil law and Employment Law. Leanne also obtained her higher rights of audience in both Civil and Criminal proceedings.

A background working in a solicitors firm means Leanne is well placed to effectively meet the needs of both the professional and the lay client.

Recent cases, both reported and of interest:

British Gas Trading Limited v Roberts (2015) – Leanne successfully represented the Claimant in a claim for unpaid electricity bills of almost £20,000. This case involved arguments about express and implied contract terms as well as restitution. The case also involved complex legal arguments concerning estoppel and abuse of process.
