Jade has a mixed practice with a focus on criminal law. She joined chambers in September 2015, following successful completion of pupillage under the supervision of Siôn ap Mihangel.
Jade enjoys a busy criminal practice, accepting both prosecution and defence instructions in the Crown and Youth Courts. She is a level 3 prosecutor.
R v H (2020) – successful prosecution of 7 counts including blackmail, robbery, and burglary of a 79-year-old man in his own home (Chester Crown Court)
R v G (2020) – successful prosecution of two offences of wounding with intent to cause GBH where the defendant assaulted two victims with a samurai sword (Chester Crown Court)
Operations Conclave & Longbow (2020) – Second Junior Counsel in successful conspiracy to commit fraud prosecution (Chester Crown Court)
Operation Resurrection (2019) – Second Junior Counsel in successful prosecution of 23 counts including fraudulent trading and fraud offences in relation to a well-known car dealer (Caernarfon Crown Court)
R v J (2017) – successful prosecution of armed robbery and kidnap, where the offences arose against a background of a drug dealers’ “turf war” (Caernarfon Crown Court)
R v P (2020) – secured acquittal of 15-year-old youth accused of rape (Caernarfon Youth Court)
R v M (2019) – defended a 14-year-old youth facing an allegation of inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent (Warrington Youth Court)
R v M (2017) – successful prosecution of a youth charged with multiple offences of possessing, making, and distributing indecent images of children, including several offences relating to photographs taken by him of his 7-year-old half-sister (Llandudno Youth Court)
Jade’s analytical and thorough approach to her work lends itself well to regulatory law. Her experience of prosecuting and defending in such matters in the Magistrates’ and Crown Courts encompasses Trading Standards and Local Authority work, Health and Safety Regulations, and Food Hygiene Regulations.
R v RJ & G (2020) – acted for local authority in regulatory proceedings against a raw juice bar relating to false health claims (Wrexham Magistrates’ Court)
R v S & Ors (2017) – acted for a defendant in Trading Standards proceedings relating to allegations of fraud and regulatory breaches (Mold Crown Court)
R v B & Ors (2016) – defended a company and company secretary in respect of breaches of UK and EU Food Hygiene Regulations relating to cockles, including a four-day application to vacate pleas and eight days of contested mitigation (Liverpool Crown Court)
R v E (2015) – acted for a defendant in Trading Standards proceedings relating to eight counts of fraud and seven counts of failure to notify consumers of their cancellation rights (Liverpool Crown Court)
Jade has a well-established personal injury practice, with a particular focus on personal injury arising from road traffic accidents.
