James is the Family & Senior Civil Clerk. He looks after all aspects of civil work and is responsible for “Public Access” queries and bookings. He has extensive knowledge of the Civil team and can offer guidance to Solicitors and public access clients as to the suitability of different Counsel for individual cases along with fees for advice or advocacy.
James joined Sedan House Chambers as an Office Administrator in 2003. He was promoted to Junior Clerk in 2005. In 2008, shortly after relocation to 1 Stanley Place Chambers, James was promoted to Family Clerk.
After a successful merger between 1 Stanley Place and Nicholas Street Chambers in 2011, James was also given the role of Civil Clerk alongside family clerking. In 2015 James was promoted to Senior Civil Clerk.
James is adept at finding the right barrister for each individual case and ensuring that clients receive the highest level of service and support.
In his spare time James enjoys playing and watching football, going to the gym, running and spending time with family and friends.
