Personal Injury

Linenhall Chambers has an extensive track record of dealing with personal injury and clinical negligence litigation and members act for both claimants and defendants, with instructions from instructing solicitors, direct access clients and insurers across England, Wales and Europe across a wide range of claims.

The barristers at Linenhall Chambers provide advice and advocacy across the broad spectrum of Personal Injury issues from infant settlements to the most complex multi-party litigation. Our team holds a particular specialism in road traffic accidents (RTA) but has well-established expertise across a range of personal injury work including in relation to employer’s and occupiers’ liability cases, fraudulent claims and credit hire. The team is also able to advise on cases involving fatal accidents, catastrophic injuries, public liability, work related stress, industrial diseases, inquests and costs work.

The team works closely with instructing solicitors in the Wales & Chester, Northern and Midlands circuit regions, predominantly in relation to fast-track cases, and is on eight law firm panels resulting in close, long-term working relationships with clients across the regional bar.

The team also undertakes direct access work with many members of the team qualified to take on cases instructed directly by lay clients. Our personal injury barristers also take instructions via Conditional Fee Agreement.

Whoever the client, we strive to provide clear, practical, and efficient litigation while being sensitive to the trauma and sometimes lasting damage that one party in the dispute has experienced. We are acutely aware of the specific challenges which often apply in dealing with personal injury cases and the need for diligent support in the critical early stages.

The personal injury team is close-knit and has a strong reputation for its friendly and accessible style, which is highly valued by clients. The team often provides a sounding board for solicitors informally and liaises directly with clients in the course of cases with a ‘hands-on’ style to management of cases.

The team is particularly adept at preparing lay clients to perform as key witnesses, often a critical factor in determining the outcome of personal injury cases, and provides holistic support to clients, beyond the legal aspects of the case. They go the extra mile for our clients to ensure they have both the correct advice and litigation but also, they feel they are supported throughout the process.
