Finance Director stole £30,000 to fuel £150 a day cocaine habit

Paulinus Barnes of Linenhall Chambers successfully prosecuted a financial director who stole thousands of pounds to fuel his drug addiction. The Defendant who stole almost £30,000 to pay for his £150 a day cocaine habit, was one of the highest earners at the not for profit companies where he was employed. After hearing evidence and submissions put forward by Mr Barnes the Judge at Warrington Crown Court found there had been a “grave breach of trust” and sentenced the Defendant to 16 months imprisonment.
